Job Description:
Midwest Express Group is a lead logistics provider offering supply chain optimization for automotive OEM’s and their suppliers. MEG has its North American Operations in the United States and Canada, with affiliate operations around the world. Our services include LLP, transportation, material handling and assembly.
MEG is currently seeking an experienced and innovative individual to fill the position of WMS IT Assistant Manager at our East Liberty location. Essential Job Functions:
- Manage IT activities for WMS project implementation.
- Serve as first point of contact during implementation and start up of WMS implementation.
- Lead IT WMS project staff including programming, integration, networking and operations.
- Responsible for managing software & hardware requirements and maintenance.
- Maintain project management work from defining scope through implementation, including all project management phases.
- Create high level design for software development projects.
- Study, analyze and map MEG/MEG customers business scanning process requirements.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot system issues.
- Assure total quality control management and programming standards.
- Manage system testing, end user testing/training and end to end system integration testing.
- Support implementation of systems into production environment.
- Documentation of technical configurations and procedures.
- Investigate new technology opportunities and perform maintenance on hardware.
- Implement capital projects.
- Oversee and participate in programming to meet business requirements and ensure project goals are met as per requirement.
- Provide leadership in System Design.
- Map current business processes to new and existing systems or service, determining and resolving any gaps which may affect business processes, project planning and management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent IT experience.
- 4+ years of AS/400 / iSeries including RPG and CL programming languages, systems analysis and design
- 3+ years WMS Manhattan WM -iSeries/PKMS. Must have implementation and experience in Manhattan WMS - iSeries/PKMS.
- 3+ years prior leadership experience
- Experience with PM, LM, slotting and billing module of Manhattan WMS iSeries is preferred
- Experience in managing and coordinating code drops, version control, and code promotion for Manhattan WMS - iSeries is preferred.
- Must have experience in logistics, warehousing and/or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in ERP systems in automotive industry preferred.
- Must be fluent in RPG, CL, ILE, SDA, PDM, SQL, DFU, RLU and QRY on AS/400.
- Knowledge in Java, XML, Visual Basic/C a plus.
- Ability to work in a highly interactive environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all levels in organization
