Job Description:

Designs, develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates code for the Essbase 6.x/9 application hosted on the Unix platform. Analyzes existing applications or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding, tests/debugs programs and assists in production deployments. Develops conversion and systems implementation plans. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance and the systems standards. Trains users in conversion and implementation of system. Works with production support to analyze and fix data inconsistencies, business logic misinterpretations or code bugs in production environments.
*Assists in the development, coding, programming and deployment of software application programs using designated programming languages and technologies
*Designs, modifies and develops software-programming applications
*Applies advanced principles of engineering including use of specifications and tests procedures to isolate and repair basic defects and write or test new code
*Participates in detailed and documented design, development and testing
*Works with other members of the engineering team to participate in software and systems design, contribute to problem solving discussions and ensure that the designs for projects are consistent with product architecture, quality and performance requirements
*Develops accurate Level of Effort (LOEs)
Participates in code reviews
*Identifies and escalates problems rapidly
*Provides technical mentoring, coaching and guidance to Engineer I levels
*Demonstrated ability to delivery superior customer service with high degree of initiative and sense of urgency
* Provide on-call support for applications and users in a 24x7 environment
*Function as a point of escalation for system outages and communicate to management when service levels are at risk
*Provide training to users on proper system us
**Able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision

Requires a bachelor**s degree in a specified discipline plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience

*Experience with Essbase 6.x/9 on a UNIX platform
*Knowledge of Essbase best practices in application design and deployment
*1-3 years experience in analysis and detailed design documentation
*3+years development experience, including building enterprise based Essbase applications
*Advanced proficiency with build rules, calc scripts, report scripts, and Essbase data manipulation
*Advanced Excel experience required including Essbase VBA add-in development
*Ability to work without direct supervision
*Administrative-level knowledge of software and hardware
*Strong organizational and communication skills
*End-to-end software lifecycle knowledge
*Familiarity with and adherence to design and coding standards
*Ability to adapt to continually-changing priorities and aggressive project timeframes
*Ability to assume team lead position
*Ability to display accountability for team and projects
*Automated data loads (multiple dim builds, intelligent calculation, parallel calculation)
Creation, modification and maintenance of Essbase Outline Structures
*Ability to integrate data with Data Warehouse and/or other Source Systems
*Ability to use and develop solutions within Excel add-in environment

Other requirements not necessary but would be beneficial to position:
** Hyperion 6x/9x Certification a plus
** Experience in financial planning and reporting a plus
** Experience with ArcPlan, or other web-based Essbase reporting software a plus
** Experience with VB.Net, VBA and Office Macros a plus

Contract term: 8mths
