Job Description:

QA testing of addition of FEDTAX2 functionality to the federal website software that is effecting both midrange and mainframe code; testing knowledge of application software and QA processes and procedures; Participates in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test execution; may include application, network, system, user and acceptance testing; requires knowledge of creation of test data, use of utilities such as file-aid, working with file layouts; will attend requirement review meeting and documentation analysis meetings; needs to be able to interrupt requirements and under technical high level design documentation; experience with both mid-range and mainframe testing; 508 testing a plus;

Performs additional job duties as needed. Able to interpret and analyze business requirements. Participate in project meetings, design and analysis walkthroughs.

Skills Required

Expert knowledge of information systems elements (hardware, software, network) and their application to business functions/processes. Has in depth knowledge of QA procedures and operations of a technical or specialized area. Has 5 plus years working with TSO/ISPF, utilities, and mainframe processing and functions. Experience with creation of test data, working with DB2 databases and batch processing. Has 1 to 3 years of experience testing mid-range applications. Experience with REXX or automated test tools a plus but not necessary. Experience in process improvement and development of QA process and procedures. Needs to be detailed and proficient in both written and verbal communication skills.
Informed and cognizant of the key processes in the business and the business rules that impacts the development and/or implementation of information systems.
Works with multiple programs/systems on projects of high complexity.
Works independently with test lead and technical groups across the enterprise.
Can provide technical leadership, mentoring to less experienced individuals a plus
