Job Description:

The selected PeopleSoft Analyst will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business systems and user needs related to PeopleSoft HRMS and Financials implementations. He/she will be expected to develop a knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular business unit and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies. This would include writing detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs. The role will also include:

  • Function as project manager through the development cycle including planning, design, development, testing and implementation phases.
  • Develop business requirements for multiple business functions, understands how those functions interact, and what enterprise solution(s) could do to support those business needs.
  • Evaluate and perform process analysis relative to needs to ensure end-to-end information flow and required new processes.
  • Develop and document requirements that describe feature and function needs, and user interfaces for the functional area.
  • Interact with project team(s) and management to identify and document benefits, costs, and risks associated with solution alternatives.
  • Work with IT departments to ensure the technical and business design matches user requirements and system needs.
  • Plan and perform functional testing of applications.
  • Document and understand high-level technical requirements for the functional area.
  • Provide consulting, training, reporting and technical support as needed for systems and services.
  • Work closely with development teams, users, senior management, consultants and vendors to assure delivery of superior and profitable IT products and services.
  • Help to ensure proper communication, process flow, data quality, reliability, integrity and security for automated systems as needed.
  • Document procedures, policies and guidelines to support daily operational processes.
  • Act as liaison between business units and Information Technology departments.
  • Make decisions in compliance with established corporate and department standards.
  • Maintain awareness of new system procedures, processes, software capabilities and other technological advances with potential impact.
  • Organizes formal presentations to decision-makers.
  • Understand when circumstances require persuasion, conciliation, assertiveness, or other approaches and reacts appropriately.

What is expected:

The selected candidate must have a BS/BA and an MBA is a plus. He/she also must have between 2-3 years of relevant work experience supporting PeopleSoft HRMS and Financial systems. He/she must possess strong analytical skills and be able to express complex technical concepts effectively and articulate and document user requirements. He/she must understand Project Methodology processes and deliverables, including the development life cycle and change control processes. He/she should have experience in planning and performing functional testing and be familiar with relational database and distributed application concepts. Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
