Accenture is looking for talented individuals to join our cutting edge Capital Markets Solutions Group as Senior Business Analysts. The Capital Markets Solutions Group delivers state-of-the art custom trading system applications, risk management systems and other products for the world’s leading banks, electronic exchanges, asset management firms, hedge funds, insurance companies and other financial services institutions. The unit was formed when Accenture acquired Random Walk Computing on July 17, 2006.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work on projects with deep, challenging functional issues arising in distributed financial systems. You’ll use your financial domain expertise to help clients solve real business problems and balance features, performance, transactional integrity, audit/security, data quality and maintainability with time-to-market and cost considerations.
Typical projects may include the development of custom trading systems, financial instrument exchanges, client-facing applications and middle and back office systems. Because our projects are on the leading edge of finance and technology, there's plenty of excitement and the opportunity to learn and develop.
The Senior Business Analyst position is available in New York, NY, Chicago IL, and San Francisco, CA.

Job Description/Duties
The Business Analyst helps to crystallize the business problems facing our clients, capturing and documenting the functional requirements around which we can develop a solution. This individual may bring to bear his or her domain experience to guide the decision-making of project sponsors, or mentor members of a project team in the specifics of the particular business domain. The Business Analyst also helps to develop and maintain the client relationship – providing status updates, leading meetings, creating and maintaining plans, etc.
Responsibilities may include:

  • Leading and managing multiple projects simultaneously from a business and client relations perspective
  • Providing an executive-level contact and resource for clients
  • Assisting the sales team with pre-sales/sales activities and deal negotiations
  • Identifying business/functional requirements by working with key client personnel or end-users
  • Evaluating software applications and IT environments, analyzing gaps between current & desired states
  • Leveraging functional and technical domain experience to advise/guide clients
  • Representing the company in negotiations with current and prospective clients and business partners
  • Interfacing with other functional and technical groups within Accenture


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of work experience as a Business Analyst
  • 5 years of work experience in financial services/capital markets
  • 3 years of experience with technology business applications
  • Strong writing, problem solving, communication and client-facing skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
Preferred Skills
  • Strong knowledge in the area of requirements definition and software development lifecycle methodology
  • Extensive project management experience
  • Knowledge of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, FX, etc.), and trading processes (front/middle/back office, order entry, clearing & settlement, etc.).
  • Ability to speak authoritatively on financial technology and related subject matters
  • Ability to relate well to senior management, directors of financial institutions, client management and technical personnel
  • Excellent presence, maturity, presentation skills and management/motivational talent
  • Ability to think strategically and act as a facilitator
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Significant experience with Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint and Visio
