Job Description:

Sr Systems Engineer
Location: New York City
Salary : 115K

Our client is looking for a senior-level Systems engineer to join its Infrastructure group. Day to day responsibilities of the group include the provisioning and oversight of servers and storage in a heterogeneous Windows/Unix environment, monitoring of system resources including the SAN fabric, TCP/IP networking troubleshooting, setup of HBA and mulitpathing software on hosts, monitoring and reporting on health/ performance of all nodes on the fabric and system documentation.
The position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to work as part of a team or independently under minimal direction.
Odd hours and travel to various locations outside the office may be required.
 
Set-up of HBA and mulitpathing software on hosts, monitoring and reporting on health/performance of all nodes on the fabric, and documentation on all procedures and configuration related to the above.
 
Basic Requirements:
 

5+ years of Windows 2000/2003 system administration experience.
Working knowledge of Active Directory.
Working knowledge of HA strategies (RAID, clustering, etc).
In-depth knowledge of EMC Clariion and Celerra product lines, both hardware and software
Experience with McData/Brocade fabric switches
Knowledgable in HA and BCP concepts (RAID, SPOFs, etc).
Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts, understands high level routing concepts.
High-level skills with most OS commands/utilities (system backups, file systems, job control, etc).
High level of knowledge of TCP/IP and various Internet servers (DNS, HTTP, FTP, NFS, CIFS etc).
Working knowledge of various systems security tools (Antivirus, system-based firewalls) with a demonstrated ability to implement them.
Experience with performance tuning/capacity planning of servers (hardware and software levels).
Ability to write simple scripts to automate processes.
Demonstrated ability to architect new platforms based on prior experience.

 
 
Experience - External:
