Job Description:
Overview:
ProLogic, Inc. is currently seeking well qualified candiates for the position of Cyber Secuirty Analyst in Pittsburgh, PA. The NETL IT Engineering Support (ITES) contract provides IT services and engineering for the National Energy Technology Lab (NETL) in PA, WV, OK, and AK. Work includes enterprise architecture, enterprise engineering, sustaining engineering, server and desktop support, networking, and security. The ITES contract also provides the Human Resource information systems for the entire Department of Energy (DOE).
Responsibilities:
Participates in the research, analysis, design, testing and implementation of complex computer network security/protection technologies for information and network systems/applications. Assists customers in identifying security solutions for the General Support network and virtual private networks, application systems, key public infrastructures, authentication and directory services to ensure the security of the network and confidential data.
Implements and maintains Network Security firewalls as necessary. Ensures the Confidentiality, Availability, and Integrity of systems, applications and data in accordance with established Policy. Monitor, identify, and mitigate security weaknesses. Enforce Cyber Security policies and procedures. Develop detailed technical recommendations to solve security issues. Performs risk assessments, provide recommendations and present findings. Works with application developers to ensure that proper security controls are identified, implemented, and tested. Designs, implements and maintains firewall systems and firewall policies.
Performs periodic vulnerability scans of networks to identify security vulnerabilities and provides remediation alternatives and conducts security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and adherence to best practices.
Performs intrusion detection monitoring of network and systems. Participates in computer security incident response activities and the technical investigations of security-related incidents. Participates in the evaluation of vendor proposals, new and existing security designs, and emerging security technologies and systems. May provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience:
Extensive experience of Checkpoint © NG firewall environments. Working knowledge of general enterprise infosec security products such as firewalls, intrusion detection and protection appliances, vulnerability scanning tools, and various monitoring technologies. An understanding of various network topologies is required and network administration experience is preferred. Working knowledge of Windows AD infrastructure , Novell Netware and Unix technologies is a must, especially related to their security postures and controls.
Required Educatioh & Training:
B.S. or M.S. degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or related field and 2 years of Cyber Security experience
Leadership and communication skills (written and verbal)
Detailed experience with the application of government security standards originating from NIST, OMB, etc
