Job Description:

Contract duration: 6 months

Description: Responsibilities include the development of resource loaded work schedules and analysis of reported progress. An incumbent operates under general supervision and within standardized work routines. An incumbent resolves scheduling conflicts, performs/handles most material and production control functions/problems, and exercises some latitude for independent action within the confines of established departmental and company policies/procedures.
Duties:
* Monitor, research, analyze and compile information from material management systems; obtain/provide material status information, and ensure the timely identification, resolution and prevention of material problems
* Ensure synchronization of Material Ordering Schedules and Master Drawing Schedules, with the Master Production Schedule
* Analyze and interpret construction bills of material, scopes, specifications, etc., to determine the content and plan manageable work elements;
* Prepare defined work packages, including detailed instructions, drawings, bills of material, references, inspection requirements, etc., to initiate and control production work
* Monitor, analyze and report performance to schedule of production and production support activities, utilizing information derived from material and production control systems (STIC Lists, Late and Due Reports, etc.)
* Prepare reports and presentations relevant to work status, problems, schedule impact, and progress of corrective actions
* Determine the validity, content, and scope of requests for maintenance/repair services
Requirements:
* An Apprentice graduate, or equivalent, and two or more years related experience
* A B.S. Degree and a working knowledge of computer systems is highly desirable
* Experience with EVMS progress analysis a plus
* An understanding of networking and scheduling techniques in Microsoft Project and basic knowledge of navy ship systems; Aircraft Carrier experience a plus
* Current computer skills are required including the ability to transfer data between Project, Access, and Excel for compiling graphs and reports
* A well-rounded knowledge of Company operations, material and production control/engineering principles and procedures, manufacturing/ construction/refueling/ testing methods, and applicable systems, components and material
