Database Engineer (PostgreSQL) Outside IR35 - London/Hybrid (Contract)
Location: London Country: UK Rate: £500 - £600 per day
Database Engineer with significant PostgreSQL experience is urgently required on an initial 3-month contract basis by a global and market dominating publishing brand.
With this project, you'll play a key role within a well-established Data team, who are responsible for providing a managed database platform in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment.
Location: London 2 days per week
Initial 3-month contract (possible extension)
Outside IR35 - £500-£600 pd
The role:
- Provisioning, configuring and maintaining databases across multiple platforms.
- Maintaining and improving the database systems in production and development environments, with a focus on PostgreSQL.
- Using automation tools (based on Ansible) and improve them to manage our large number of Servers and database instances.
- Ensuring high availability of databases through clustering, replication, and other techniques
- Working with the team to document processes, procedures, and technical designs related to database management
Experience/requirements
- Extensive Database development skills with advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies with a desire to expand on this knowledge: MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, MarkLogic, or Pinecone
- Strong understanding of database architecture, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
- Experience with database clustering and replication mechanisms
- Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms, preferably GCP
- Experience in automation and configuration management, preferably with Ansible.
Please note you will need full right to work in the UK and eligible to work Outside IR35.
Selected candidates must be available to start at short notice.
