Product Manager - Open Finance/Open Banking - 12 months + Hybrid (2 days on site) (Contract)

Location: Hampshire Country: UK Rate: Market

My client are looking for an Open Finance Product Manager

  • Client are a a leading bank and international payments network
  • Open Finance is a technology platform developed and managed by Client
  • The platform enables consumer permissioned data sharing with the outside world
  • The platform is a key enabler to positioning in the Open Finance ecosystem
  • We are an agile team operating with Product x Delivery x Engineering under one banner

What you'll do as a Product Manager':

  • This role resides within OFH's Product Management function
  • You will report into the OFH's Lead Product Manager
  • You will primarily be responsible for:
    • Scoping and defining large feature-sets for development
    • Drafting intake, product requirement and business case documentation
    • Contributing to ongoing roadmap and backlog prioritisations
    • Reviewing technical documentation and spec/standard updates
    • Partnering with Delivery Manager and Engineering counterparts to ensure smooth design and implementation
    • Supporting development of OFH's overarching platform strategy
  • Where needed, you will also support the Lead Product Manager in:
    • Ad hoc strategy projects typically received from key executive forums (SteerCo)
    • Drafting leadership updates and supporting the quarterly planning process
    • Defining, refining and improving team operations and processes
  • You will develop and maintain close working relationships with
    • Delivery Manager counterparts
    • Engineering and Architecture counterparts
    • Program Managers
  • The job's location: London, United Kingdom

Minimum Qualifications - ie What we need from you - the must-haves' and nice-to- haves'

  • The must-haves'
    • Prior experience in Product' - either as Product Manager or Product Owner
    • Prior experience in management consulting, Big-4 or direct equivalent - in management consulting teams
    • Minimum experience: 5 years
    • Significant evidence in drafting well thought-through, highly structured documents and analysis with clear so-whats'. Samples will be requested.Nb. Candidates who do not meet the above will not be considered
  • The nice-to-haves'
    • Direct experience in open banking/open finance or FinTech equivalent
    • Direct experience in developing data-led, connectivity solutions (B2B)
    • Proficiency in product management software (eg JIRA, Miro, Trello )
    • Ancillary experience/skillsets in project management or delivery roles
  • Your attitudes, behaviours and ways-of-working'
    • Accountable - you have a proclivity to take radical ownership over tasks and drive' to completion, overcoming obstacles in your way
    • Diligent - you have as natural tendency to go below the surface', into the detail whilst keeping an eye on the 80:20'.
    • First principles thinking - you have an ability to break-down problems, apply original thought leadership and provide recommendations that are specific, directly relevant to our context and executable
    • Systems based thinking - you have an ability to think beyond the immediate next step' and frame recommendations in the context of broader objectives whilst also pre-empting unintended consequences
    • Independent yet consultative - you have an ability to switch modes' between driving work as an individual contributor to taking a more consultative' approach particularly in cross-functional endeavours
