Qualification Engineer - 12 month contract - Christchurch - SC Cleared

Summary
As the Qualification Systems Engineer you will be supporting the design, development, and testing of complex defence systems to ensure they meet safety, environmental, and operational requirements. You will work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to develop technical solutions, support system integration, and verify system performance through testing and diagnostics. Your role involves providing engineering support during business development activities and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. Daily tasks include designing solutions, supporting certification processes, diagnosing issues, and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.

Skills
Strong hardware and systems engineering knowledge
Understanding of the engineering life cycle and configuration management
Experience with requirements management and development tools
Knowledge of electrical engineering standards (eg, BS7671)
Familiarity with communication technologies (IP Networking, VOIP, radio links)
Ability to design for environmental and EMC compliance
Experience with system testing and verification processes
Good problem-solving and innovation skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel as needed
