Graphic and Motion Designer (Contract)

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland Country: UK Rate: £200 - £250 per day
 

Graphic and Motion Designer| 6 months (Inside IR35)| Hybrid ( Edinburgh)|

Harvey Nash's client is recruiting for a Graphic and Motion Designer on a 6 month contract.

Main Duties

  • Create dynamic, innovative, and engaging 2D and 3D graphics for use across all of the Organisation's social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with other visual content team members to design and produce accurate, captivating digital materials that align with the Organisation's strategic goals, including motion graphics, infographics, and animations.
  • Contribute creatively to a team that develops and curates inventive visual content for websites and social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Work with the Social Content Hub to track digital, video, and social media activity, using insights and evaluations to support continuous improvement of future communication efforts.
  • Provide additional post-production support to the team as needed, especially in video editing.
  • Base your work on evidence-based research and incorporate these insights into your designs.
  • Help maintain the quality of design across the Social Content Hub's output.
  • Archive digital assets in a way that facilitates their reuse or adaptation for different purposes.
  • Use layout, spacing, colour, typography, and iconography to ensure content is user-friendly and ensure that the visual content team's work complies with accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with visual content colleagues to develop updated guidelines for stakeholders on creating creative assets.

Key Skills

  • Proven experience in graphic design, motion graphics and typography.
  • Expert understanding of graphic design and video editing software, including use of professional creative software (such as Adobe Creative Cloud applications) and browser based graphic design software (such as Canva or equivalents).
  • Good judgement to inform appropriate use of graphics, alongside the ability to prioritise under pressure.
  • Strong track record of developing designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes.
