Site Reliability Engineer (SRE - Java)

Role Overview:

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure systems for our banking services. Leveraging your strong background in Java development, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our infrastructure, automate processes, and drive continuous improvements in reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain resilient and scalable infrastructure using modern tools and technologies.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews to drive improvements.
• Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and guidelines for SRE processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong background in Java development with experience in building and maintaining large-scale systems.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and Scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl.
• Experience with cloud platforms (eg, AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (eg, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools (eg, Terraform).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (eg, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) and version control systems (eg, Git).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
