IT Engineer (Permanent)

Location: Taunton, Somerset Country: UK
 

An exciting opportunity for a IT Engineer to join a dedicated Technology team in the Financial Services industry, based in Taunton. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge and experinece in a Microsoft/Azure/O365 environment; Virtual machines, Networking, Security, Storage and Back Up. Hybrid role, 3 days on site in Taunton.

Description

The IT Engineer will:

  • Manage Azure and Office 365 environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Migrate on-premises infrastructure and workloads to Azure and Office 365, leveraging best practices and minimising downtime.
  • Implement and configure Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, Azure Storage, and Azure Backup.
  • Configure and manage Office 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise resources to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement security measures and compliance controls to protect data and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support, resolving issues and addressing concerns in a timely manner.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously enhancing skills and knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.

Profile

The successful IT Engineer should have:

  • Proficiency in cloud-based technologies and platforms - managing Azure and Office 365 environments.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Azure services and Office 365 applications, with hands-on experience in deployment and administration.
  • Be proficient in PowerShell Scripting for automation and management tasks.
  • Pride yourself on your strong problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong understanding of data security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
