This is a unique opportunity to own the development of machine learning models and Business Intelligence projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision making throughout the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Analyse various data sources to deliver data-driven and actionable insights for small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Develop sophisticated multivariate models and analytic solutions, utilising complex statistical and data science techniques and methods.
- Work independently with ambiguous requirements and proactively identify opportunities for insights from the data.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and business partners to leverage insights from data.
Essential Skills
- Ability to combine, interrogate, and manipulate large data sets using big data tools such as Hadoop and Spark.
- Extensive Experience in using common programming languages, preferably Python, and different statistics and machine learning libraries.
- Understanding of trade-offs between different machine learning model validation metrics to achieve optimal model performance.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to communicate statistical findings to business partners and translate them into business insights.
- 7+ years Experience
- Gen AI & Agentic AI Experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with BI visualisation tools like Tableau, Domo, or Power BI.
- Experience in optimising big data ETL pipelines.
- Experience in deploying machine learning models to cloud-based production environments.
- Experience with Databricks and Generative AI applications in commercial settings.
- Background in the financial industry.
- Solid foundation in software engineering, focusing on maintaining high code quality, effective version control, and rigorous testing practices.
