SMX is seeking a skilled User Experience Engineer Software Engineer (UX) to join their team in support of the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) Battle Management Dashboard. You will design intuitive and user-centric interfaces for the analytics dashboard, ensuring the product is accessible and efficient for users.
Collaborate closely with the Power Platform Developer and other technical teams to create seamless and engaging user experiences. This role requires a creative thinker who can apply UX design best practices, conduct user research, and iterate on feedback to enhance product usability. You will play a crucial role in making the dashboard easy and intuitive to use, contributing to the success of mission-critical projects.
This position is Hybrid to the National Capital Region (Some on site at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia)This position requires a DoD secret security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement user interfaces for the INSCOM Battle Management DashboardConduct user research and usability testingCollaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure UX aligns with user needsCreate wireframes, mockups, and prototypesApply UX best practices and maintain visual consistencyAnalyze user feedback and iterate on designsEnsure final product adheres to security and compliance standardsRequired Skills, Education & ExperienceRequired clearance: Secret with ability to obtain TS/SCIDoD TS/SCI highly desiredStrong UX/UI design portfolioProficiency in design and prototyping tools (Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma)Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Apps and Power BI from a UX/UI perspectiveExpertise in AI-driven analytics and its application to UX/UI designExcellent collaboration and communication skillsAgile software development experienceKnowledge of accessibility standardsBachelor's degree in design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum 3 years' UX/UI design experience (preferably with analytics, dashboards, or complex web applications)Experience conducting user research and usability testingDesired ExperienceExperience with data visualizationExperience with military and intelligence communitiesSMX, we are a team of technical and domain experts dedicated to enabling your mission.
