Responsibilities:Design and architect VCF Software Source Code Management (SCM) systems including Perforce and GitHub, collaborate with the DevOps and Infrastructure team to manage and support the systems.Develop and implement VCF best practices for SCM usage, including branching, merging, and automation Define SCM performance and scalability VCF needs to accommodate large code repositories and development teams.
Collaborate with development teams to understand their version control needs and provide technical support and guidance.Develop and maintain documentation, including procedures, guidelines, and training materials, to facilitate SCM usage across the organization.Stay updated on the latest SCM features, tools, and technologies, and recommend improvements to enhance system functionality and efficiency.
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 12+ years of related experience.Proven experience working with Perforce and GitHub version control systems in a professional setting.In-depth knowledge of Perforce and GitHub administration, including server configuration, user management, and security settings.
Strong understanding of version control concepts, such as branching, merging, and code review workflows.Proficient in development and operations of mission-critical softwareSuperior knowledge of one or more programming languages which enable effective automation and customization of tools and solutions (Python is a must-have)Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
