You will be leading of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team responsible for delivering world class Omnichannel payment experiences and personal integration through REST on vert.x polyglot event-driven application framework and data driven solution on Big Data stack, Machine Learning and APIs. You will be challenged with identifying innovative and transformative ideas and proof of concept to deliver against the existing and future needs of our customers.

We are looking for passionate Digital/Web Senior engineer to work and lead team on the futuristic web engineering, Digital asset creation & API integration for our clients & partners. This requires the ability to go deep in the American Express payment system with many dependencies while responsible for the technical deliveries and implementation of components. As a Senior engineer in our OPEN SOURCE development team you will be responsible for lead, develop and deliver digital experience for the future supporting AMEX user experiences on Omnichannel (web, bot,mobile, etc.

), as well as integrations with partners. Strong on Cloud technology implementation private and public/hybrid domains. Senior Engineer lead POCs, MVP using open source, American express frameworks like OneAmex, Cloud Event schema for event architecture.

You will work closely with product and experience to understand the requirements and deliver product that meets these requirements. Technologies used vary from Java, Spring, REST, REACT, Angular, SPRING, Node.js, SPARK, SCALA, HIVE, Python etc.

If you are the kind of lead engineer who is passionate about bringing great products to life especially in payment area, being a crafts(wo)man in engineering and love working in a collaborative environment with your product partners and dependency teams, then we want to talk to you.Responsibilities:Perform all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications including design, hands-on engineering, developing framework & tooling including prototypes, and code review, mentor engineering peers and own and drive transformation with various technology domains.Experience designing and developing REST APIs for high volume clients.

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDb, Couchbase, or Cassandra is a plus.Function as a engineering leader on an agile team to build scalable software solutions through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation).Lead code reviews (Pull Requests)Lead and contribute into engineering excellence like automated of all testing areas.

Lead Product Management and work closely with product owners in defining product and engineering roadmap.Debug software components and identify code defects for remediation.Leads the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments.

Automate deployments in test or production environments.Goal to have all applications able automatically scale and non functional requirements of self-healing built within every critical journeysStrong interpersonal leadershipDemonstrate increased self-reliance to achieve team goals.Influence team members with innovative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking.

Be a productivity multiplier for your team by analyzing your workflow and contributing to enable the team to be more effective, productive, and demonstrating faster and stronger results.Mentor and guide team members to success within the team.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in computer science or information technology8 + years of software development experience6 + years of experience with cloud-based software design, building microservices, and automated testing and deployment6 + years of experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases8 + years of experience in developing Java, REST, REACT, SPRING applications and solutions8 + years of experience in core Java development/design/architecturePreferred Qualifications:Up to date with industry reference of tech trend and solutions.

Thinking leader in building innovation and transformational technology strategiesEnable engineering teams to adapt and promote OpenSource2 + years of experience with Big Data Tech stack of technologies2 + years of experience in designing and building solutions using Kafka streams or queues 2 + years of experience or exposure to Machine Learning and Artificial Engineering would be beneficial.Master's DegreeQualificationsWe back our colleagues with the support they need to thrive, professionally and personally.
