Sr. Cloud Security Software Engineer (Go, Python, Java, C/C )

This position can be 100% remote or a hybrid role working onsite in Austin, TX.

The Cisco Cloud Security team is looking for an engineer to join our dynamic team working on the Cloud Native Firewall.

In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of new product features, product releases, compliance and quality for cloud-based Firewall applications that are used by millions every day to keep the world secure.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Cloud Security Software Engineer, you would:

Develop solutions to extend and improve the infrastructure of SFCN.

Develop and Test new software features, sophisticated modules of code.

Write functional and design specifications.

Involved in test and automation of feature and taking them to deployment stage.

Debug and provide solutions for existing deployments.

Participate in/drive threat modeling and risk management of our infrastructure.

Drive efforts to achieve/maintain compliance such as SOC2, FedRAMP, etc.

Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience.
  • 5-8 years of Software development experience.
  • Experience with containerization and related technologies such as docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS.
  • Familiarity with microservice based architectures.
  • Practical knowledge of IT Security (encryption, firewalls, secure systems design, vulnerability management, secure software design, credential management, etc.)
  • Experienced in leading teams with highly technical individual contributors.
  • Ability to work in agile delivery model, with ownership and accountability.
  • Experience building packages for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance requirements (SOC2 and/or FedRAMP) in a DevOps environment.
