Description Engility is seeking a Space Control Modeling & Simulation Analyst to provide enterprise architecture and Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) support to Headquarters Air Force Space Command (HQ AFSPC) at Peterson AFB, CO. This position resides Full time at the Engility facility.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
  • Design, develop, program and execute operational and/or physics-based models of concepts of operations in support of Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) efforts for the Space Protection and Space Control mission area.
  • Perform data collection and preparation, model formulation and setup, model test and evaluation, execution of data runs, analyses of model output
  • Build and update models and analysis tools within standard modeling software environments (e. g., MATLAB, Python, Simulink)
  • Evaluate/analyze concepts, system architectures and alternatives for incorporating in, updating or optimizing M&S tool development
  • Support Space Control enterprise analysis efforts (e. g., Analyses of Alternatives, effectiveness analysis, and cost analysis) to define needed future capabilities and supporting infrastructure for enterprise architecture development
  • Provide technical expertise to complete Modeling & Simulation development to include model verification and validation activities.
  • Work with AFSPC A-staff and MS&A team to ensure areas of concern are covered by requirements and planning/programming
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s Degree in Astronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, astrodynamics, software engineering, computer science, or equivalent
  • 5+ years related experience in mission operations, aerospace system development, or M&S
  • Programming language proficiency, preferably in Python, Matlab, and/or Simulink
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas:
    • Space Control mission area
    • Satellite Tool Kit (STK) and/or System Effectiveness Analysis Simulation (SEAS)
    • Space Technology and/or Aerospace Operations
    • MAJCOM-level studies and analysis
Desired Qualifications
  • Proactive, self-starting, independent, flexible individual with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to be productive with little supervision
  • AFSPC A-staff support experience
  • Experience supporting greater national security space community
  • Expert knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of critical command plans and programs for participating in or conducting major operations such as Space Situational Awareness & Command and Control; Space Protection and associated mission and flight operations, tactical space life, deployment, mobilization, exercise, training systems, foreign military sales, Planning, Programming, & Budgeting System (PPBE) acquisition, special operations, or similar operations.
