Description Provide assistance with technical support for Mk 160 MOD 14 (GWS) Gun weapon Systems Interface equipment and auxiliary systems to include the MK 20 MOD 0 Electro Optical Sight System (EOSS)and the MK15 MOD 26 Block 1B1 Baseline 2 Close-in Weapon System (CIWS). Technical support includes but is not limited to engineering/technical evaluations, assessments, equipment functional checks, technical assists, troubleshooting/test/analysis and equipment repair, installation, operation and maintenance for the Mk 34 MOD 16/Mk 160 MOD 14 (GWS) Gun weapon Systems (GWS) systems, MK 20 MOD 0 Electro Optical Sight System and theMK15 MOD 26 Block 1B1 Baseline 2 Close-in Weapon System. Assist in monitoring ship s construction in Combat System spaces to ascertain readiness for equipment load out, AEGIS light off and sea trial readiness. Provide consultation assistance to the shipbuilder in resolving detail design and engineering problems related to the AEGIS Combat System. Assist ship's force technicians and government personnel at assigned locations to analyze and resolve malfunctions detected during equipment installation, operation and testing. Participate and assist in Ship's Force training and rehearsals in preparation for sea trial events. Support software and hardware installation testing and evaluation of new or modified programs and equipment including the generation of requirements analysis, test plans, procedures, training outlines, operational evaluation, and recommendations
Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS Degree Preferred or 3-5 years in Aegis Weapon System experience.
  • Experience in integration and testing of AEGIS weapon system onboard DDG 51 class ships.
  • Must possess knowledge of AEGIS Weapon System support systems such as: MK 20 MOD 0 Electro Optical Sight System, AN/UYQ-107 (GCSC), MK 437 Mod 4 (GMCP), MK 5 Mod 0 Velocimeter andMK15 MOD 26 Block 1B1 Baseline 2 Close-in Weapon System (CIWS).
  • Experience in live Naval Ordnance firing events, Naval tactics and procedures
  • Must be able to obtain and maintaina Secret or abovesecurity clearance.
