The SAP Ariba Analytics Team provides strategic value by enabling data driven decision making for internal teams in Ariba as well as customers. The goal of the team is to radically transform the customer success journey using data visualization, analytics and data insights to drive business outcomes. We strive to deliver insights that compel action to internal and external stakeholders.

This role is at the forefront of capturing the requirements from various internal stakeholders by understanding the data foot print of Ariba applications. The mission is to transform the user experience of analytics stakeholders, who use insights to drive customer success, by ensuring high quality of insights to guide and validate business success. Analytics is tasked with making data meaningful, providing analysis of the data and helping stakeholders translate information needs into the appropriate delivery methods for the organization.

Job Description Overview

The Senior Value Advisor will be responsible for understanding how Ariba product data and insights impact the Ariba organization. This role in particular will be focused on learning the Ariba applications and determining data and insights that are of value to the analytics team. Requirement gathering from Product Managers and Engineering leaders will be critical to success and finding the KPIs and metrics that dictate product usage and adoption will be key.

The Senior Value Advisor will determine how Ariba products are being used, the critical metrics to track usage and the best way to align analytics in the product roadmaps. Key areas of focus include: maintaining high quality data visualizations, analysis of results and insights on Ariba Cloud Data (Ariba Network and Cloud Applications). This individual will be responsible for the organization and presentment of Ariba data that allows for data driven decisions. The foundation of this role is built on the continued development of strong knowledge and expertise in Ariba's solutions and a good understanding of key business processes requiring data. The goal is to support and improve the decision-making process for Ariba leaders and customers to help them plan for the future through adoption and improved usage of the Ariba Analytics technologies.

The person filling this role must be well rounded and a good mix of reporting skills, business focus, process focus, and analytics focus. The candidate is expected to be self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and demonstrate a passion for continuous learning.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learning and capturing analytics requirements that drive business decisions for new programs/projects, and align business needs by product and solution areas.
  • Collaboration with Ariba Product Managers on product KPIs, calculations and data storage to be the Analytics liaison for product research.
  • Lead internal reviews with the Analytics Team about the Ariba product roadmaps, features, enhancements and what reporting is needed to enrich the existing data and visualizations.
  • Quickly translate business needs, to product data, to analytics insights to arrive at data visualizations that are impactful to the business.
  • Provide impactful analytics solutions through reports, insights and analysis that drive Ariba business programs and decisions.
  • Effectively interact and build relationships with business/functional teams and engineering teams to gather functional and technical requirements and translate the requirements into robust analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Understanding of Privacy and Security controls around customer data.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technology, analytics, or presales experience.
  • Experience in product management or like field with requirements documentation and impact analysis work.
  • Strong analytical abilities; Comfortable with quantitative research and analysis to provide insights and business analysis.
  • Strong planning and organization skills with demonstrated ability to master new concepts quickly, incorporate the latest technologies and develop business solutions that increase efficiency, productivity and profitability.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into requirement documentation; Strong ability to translate decision making needs into analytics solution requirements.
  • Involvement with metadata management, master data management and data stewardship.
  • Superior written, presentation and communication skills as well as a focus on detail .
