About This Role
In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing all Software Engineers within the Munitions group in the Textron Systems Weapons division. You will ensure adequate staffing levels for Software Engineers, including Full time employees, co-ops, interns, and contractors; forecasting needs to meet program and organizational requirements.
Drive Software Engineer development and engagement through performance management, regular communication, and skills planning, including training opportunities to enhance capabilities.
Oversee customer deliverables, including review and approval of software architecture and requirements development, and ensuring deliverables meet internal quality expectations and customer requirements.
Monitor and improve departmental performance via analysis of quality metrics related to process compliance and overall team performance, and by gathering and addressing feedback from internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Software Engineers within the Munitions group in the Textron Systems Weapons division. Ensure adequate staffing for software engineers (full-time, co-ops, interns, contractors) and forecast needs to meet program requirements.
- Drive software engineer development and engagement through performance management, regular communication, and skills planning with training opportunities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience, OR Master's degree (M.S.) in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of Embedded and application software engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methods and tools.
- Understanding of Model-Based Engineering practices.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies is preferred.
