We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Subject Matter Expert to define, implement, and embed data governance practices across the organisation. This role focuses on ensuring data is well governed, trusted, and compliant, supporting both operational and analytical use cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and standards

• Establish clear data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models

• Support the rollout of data governance processes across business and technology teams

• Define and maintain business glossaries, data definitions, and metadata

• Ensure data governance aligns with regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements

• Work closely with data architecture, engineering, and analytics teams to embed governance into data platforms

Required Experience

• 6-8 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles

• Proven experience implementing data governance frameworks in complex organisations

• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements impacting data

Technical Skills

• Data governance frameworks and operating models

• Metadata management and business glossary tools

• Data lineage and data cataloguing concepts

• Experience working with Azure based data platforms

• Strong understanding of data lifecycle management

Certifications

• DAMA CDMP or equivalent data governance certifications (preferred)

• Information management or data management certifications are an advantage

Soft Skills

• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills

• Ability to balance governance requirements with business needs

• Clear and confident communication across technical and non technical audiences
