Platform Engineer - Edge (VMWare) (Contract)
Location: Germany
Platform Engineer - Edge (VMWare) - 3months + - Mainly remote/Some on site work in Germany - Start April
We are looking for a senior Platform Engineer with focus in VMware.
Your main task is to support the client in a project focusing on creating new HCI server clusters for several global locations.
The client has gone live with 3 pilot locations and requires the Engineer to support the next wave for several new roll out locations.
You will be supporting the planning & designing of global server clusters and support Architects in collecting requirements.
You will need to align with business stake holders to assess server workloads and document the requirements and to-be design needed to move these to the new target platform.
Tasks:
* Support and align with Platform Architects and Network Engineers/Architects on design and implementation based on corporate standards
* Implement the Platform cluster in various locations worldwide (VMWare, vSAN & Cisco)
* Support the planning, design, configuration and documentation of the implemented systems
* Support several worldwide roll outs
Requirements:
* Strong project experience as a platform Engineer (system configuration)
* Strong project experience with VMWare, vSAN and Cisco
Strong hands on skills with VMWare to support and troubleshoot during implementation and cutover project phase
* Experience in deploying global server clusters (HP Servers)
* Advantageous: Experience in the Manufacturing industry
* Project experience in large international environments
* Fluency in English
Project details:
* Start: April
* Duration: 3 months (+ option to extend)
* Workload: 5 days per week
* Location: Mainly remote, some on site work in Germany once a month (Workshops/Meetings)
* Languages: Fluency in English
